While President Muhammadu Buhari bragged in Abuja about the achievements of his administration, the country continued its slide towards anarchy as a pregnant woman on Sunday evening was attacked in Yogbo town, Makurdi, Benue State, when persons suspected to be herdsmen allegedly inserted hard object into her vagina, piercing her womb and thereby killing her unborn baby.

The Zenald Care Foundation, a non-governmental organisation which operates in Northern Nigeria, shared the details of the horrific assault on Social Media. It is shocking that such could happen in broad day light in a Nigeria state capital.

It is understood that the yet to be named woman and her husband were attacked as they weaved through Yogbo town. Her husband reportedly escaped, while the woman was caught and assaulted by the herdsmen, who had announced their presence with shooting.

The post read, “The men used sticks to pierce through her private part to kill the unborn child and pull the child and her womb out after which they beat her and left her for dead.”

Her husband was said to have alerted the military stationed in the state, who had gone with him to pick his wife’s corpse but she was surprisingly found alive.

“They discovered that she was still alive and brought her down to Bishop Murray Hospital, which is run by the Catholic Church.

“We (Zenald Care Foundation) were informed and rushed there.

“Preliminary processes and documentation have been done. We (Zenald Care Foundation) have paid for screening and two pints of blood and and I am currently waiting for the bill for the surgery to likely take out the womb. Pictures as seen above,” the post added.

The founder of the Zenald Care Foundation, Pastor Zidon Love, has confirmed the incident. He said a reverend father had contacted him with the details of the woman’s experience.

He added that he had also shared the photographs, which he posted on his foundation’s Facebook page.

Killings by suspected herdsmen has continued unabated in Benue, with the people now living at the mercy of the marauders despite assurances from the government and military.

The Benue State government has twice held mass burial for victims of herdsmen killings.

The Trinity: A Mystery Revealing the Nature of God – Crisis Magazine

The doctrine of the Trinity is a mystery that has been the subject of debate, controversy, and misunderstanding for two millennia. Part of the difficulty is that although traces of the Trinity run throughout the warp and woof of Scripture, God’s holy Word contains nothing explicit about it. But perhaps our larger problem is that …
